  • Liu Wai Yip
    I graduated from University of Leeds, UK in 2002 with a PhD in terahertz, millimeter-wave and microwave engineering. Since then, I have spent about one and half years in University of Michigan as a postdocoral researcher. From Dec, 2003 to June, 2006, I became a principle investigator of a UK government funded research in 3D nano/micro fabrication. After completion of the project, this project has continued for a further few years until 2009, when I became a course director/ associate professor of Hong Kong Campus of CCNU. From 2015 until Aug, 2018, I was a research fellow and laboratory manager at SUSTC in China. After Aug, 2018, I was still with SUSTC as a visiting research scholar.

    Before I received my PhD, i was in the industry as a VLSI engineer and CAD developer, having spent almost a decade in multi-national organizations like Agilent Technologies, Bell Laboratory, Motorola, Hitachi Europe, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

  • Dr. Phu Do Xuan
    Do Xuan Phu received the B.S and M.S degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology (BKU), Vietnam, in 2005 and 2008 respectively. He received the Ph.D degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Inha University, South of Korea, in 2015. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Singapore University of Technology and Design-MIT from 2015 to 2016.
    Dr. Phu joined the Department of Mechatronics and Sensor Systems Technology at Vietnamese-German University, Vietnam, in 2017. He is also a lecturer of Hochshule Karlsruhe - University of Applied Science, Germany. His research areas include intelligent control, mechanism and actuators, smart materials and structures for robotics, medical robotics and devices.
    Dr. Phu is founding director of MediRobotics Laboratory at Vietnamese-German University, Vietnam.
