    My research focuses on numerical methods and analysis for hyperbolic partial differential equations for conservation laws and their implementation on high-performance computing supercomputers.     Received the MEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1994 from University College London and PhD in 1998. Was previously Head/Dean of the School of Science and Technology, RMIT Vietnam from 2018-2020, and prior to that was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at The Technological University of Brunei for 3 years.

    Prof Dr Dimla is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, FIMechE and FIET.

  • Karl Grote
    Karl – H. GROTE earned his “Diplom in Mechanical Engineering” (Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering) in 1979 and his “Dr.-Ing.” (Ph.D. in Engineering) in 1984, both from the Technical University in Berlin, Germany.
    After a post doctoral stay in the USA he joined an automotive supplier as manager of the engineering design department. In 1995 he was named Chairman and University Professor of the Engineering Design Department at the Otto-von-Guericke University, Magdeburg, Germany. From 2002 to 2004 he was Full Visiting Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology, (Caltech), USA. He served as Dean of the College of Mechanical Engineering at Otto-von-Guericke University from 2005 to 2016. In 2015 he received an Honorary Doctor Degree (Dr. h.c.) from the Kiew Institute of Technology (KPI). Since 1995 he is Editor of the DUBBEL (Taschenbuch für den Maschinenbau), since 2008 Editor of the Springer Handbook of Mechanical Engineering and author of several books. Professor Grote has over 200 publications in the area of Mechanical Engineering Design and Product Development.

  • Liu Wai Yip
    Dr. Liu graduated from University of Leeds, UK in 2002 with a PhD in terahertz, millimeter-wave and microwave engineering. Since then, he has spent one and half years in University of Michigan as a postdoctoral researcher. From Dec 2003 to June 2006, he became a principal investigator of a UK government-funded research in 3D nano/microfabrication. After completion of the contract, this project has continued for a further few years until 2009, when he became a course director/ associate professor of Hong Kong Campus of CCNU. From 2015 until Dec 2018, He was a foreign research scholar/research fellow /laboratory manager at SUSTC.
    Before receiving his PhD, he was in the industry as a VLSI engineer and CAD developer, having spent almost a decade in multi-national organizations like Agilent Technologies, Bell Laboratory, Motorola, Hitachi Europe, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.
